How to fix a curved penis and treat Peyronie’s disease

Why is my penis curved?

Although it is common for a man’s penis to curve slightly to the left or right when it is erect, a more significant bend in your penis may cause you pain or difficulty during sexual intercourse. These can sometimes be symptoms of Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s disease, which causes the curve in an erect penis, mostly affects men over the age of 40, although it can happen to men of any age.

The symptoms of this disease are:

  • a thickened area or hard lump in the shaft of the penis caused by plaque a curve in the penis – typically upward – when erect
  • pain in the penis experienced during an erection
  • a misshaped penis that resembles an hourglass
  • A loss of length or girth of the penis

In the most severe cases, Peyronie’s disease can make sexual intercourse difficult, painful or even impossible. The condition may also lead to erectile dysfunction.

Researchers have yet to discover the cause of Peyronie’s disease, though it is thought that the condition sometimes occurs after an injury to the penis when erect, such as being bent during sex. However, a curved penis can develop without any obvious cause. Peyronie’s disease may also be hereditary.
